This killed me. I was doing so well until he said that and I broke down and cried and forced Brad to hold me until it stopped.

I was doing alright, too. Or as alright as one can be after watching Sherlock cry and John’s knees give out from under him after the not-quite-supposed-to-be-that-physical pain of watching someone he loves die. And then this scene and he said it, I was so alone, and all thoughts of John feeling hopeless, worthless, aimless, lost and out of place after Afghanistan just went rushing back. And his voice broke, begging Sherlock. And he almost salutes, and when he turns it’s an aboutface and it’s so rigid like he was before there was a before- and after-Sherlock. And—-
